101 Questions & Answers
Why Be a Home Owner?
Just imagine no more landlords; no more noisy neighbors; room to relax and to play in your own home, building a stable nest egg just for you.
Owning a home is a wonderful dream. Even more wonderful is making it become a reality. It has been said that there aver very few valid reasons for renting. (1) You live in a home rent-free, or nearly so, (2) Employment requires that you move frequently, or returning to any one location for any period of time (even then, real estate investments can be a great hedge against inflation), or (3) Illness forces you to live where you can receive ongoing care.
Unless you fall into one of these categories, you probably should be buying a home, not renting. Why? Because if you live in a home for just a few short years, the appreciation, equity build-up and tax benefits can quickly pay back your monthly expenses when you sell.
